Wee Family Farm is a place to learn old fashioned homestead skills. If an experience you want is not described below, feel free to tell us what you are looking for. Use Contact Page to inquire about seasonal availability.
CHEESE
Make cheese with milk from our sheep. The entire process from washing the udder, to making curd in the farmhouse kitchen, cheese press to table, it all happens on the farm.
CIDER
Harvest, grind, and press apples for the freshest juice you'll ever taste. With many apple varieties available it is a treat to sample the various flavors. Learn to ferment into hard cider here too.
PRESERVING
Make ketchup from tomatoes fresh off the vine. Learn to preserve the harvest bounty with canning, drying, fermenting, and more. Pickled green beans are a family favorite here.
TRUFFLE HUNTING
Tasty nuggets hidden underground. We know the habitat and season for truffles and our dog Rosie is trained to sniff them out. Join in in the hunt.
SOURDOUGH
Bake a loaf of crusty sourdough or learn to make pickles from the garden. Not just pickled cucumber, spicy pickled green beans are a family favorite here.
CHILD CARE
Farmer Ann can watch your little ones for a few hours so Mom and Dad can enjoy some grown up time. Want to go wine tasting? There are several winery tasting rooms close by. We can discuss your child's interests and set up a farm fun activity for them while you are out.
Farming Skills
Learn to care for animals and gardens. Farmer Ann is expert in horticulture, animal husbandry, and happy to share her knowledge with visitors. Want to improve your pastures, add a new type of livestock to your farm, increase your garden yield? Ann can help you succeed.
FIBER ARTS
Felting is a great all ages activity where we can create a finished project in one day. We can also dye or process wool together. We use a combination of East Friesian wool from our sheep and purchased Marino wool for a softer feel or Wensleydale fun corkscrew curly locks.
Wreath Making
Wreaths are a quick simple craft that works in most seasons. Wildcrafting materials from the forest or harvesting material from the garden can help the wreath feel personal and complete.
